Getting Here in Winter

It’s not easy getting to Charlotte Pass in winter. That’s part of its appeal.

There is no overnight car parking at Perisher Valley!

You must use one of these ways of getting to Charlotte Pass. You can choose to go via the Skitube or use a private shuttle to Perisher.

Choosing to go via the Skitube requires a bit more planning to get the timing right. You need to catch the Skitube at a time that will get you to Perisher in time to reach your oversnow transport.

2pm Check-In

You can check-in from 2pm onwards. This will help you work out what time you should arrange your oversnow transport and the other parts of your journey.

Book Oversnow Transport First

Regardless whether you come via the Skitube or private shuttle, the most important thing to do is to book your oversnow transport from Perisher to Charlotte Pass first.

You should book oversnow transport as soon as we have confirmed your booking.

Via the Skitube

1.

Park for free at Bullocks Flat

Leave your car in the free car park a the ski tube station in Bullocks Flat. Here’s the address:

Skitube to Perisher

Catch the Ski tube to Perisher. The trains run regularly but there are restrictions on travelling with luggage.

You should allow time to unload your car, get to the terminal and purchase your return ticket.

Make sure that the train you are planning on taking will get you to Perisher in time to meet your booked oversnow transport.

Timetables, ticket prices and information about travelling with luggage can be found on the Ski Tube website.

3.

Find Charlotte Pass Guest Services

At the Perisher terminal use the staffed luggage lift to take your luggage to the upper floor. There are also stairs nearby.

Find the Charlotte Pass Guest Services office at the southern end of the terminal.

4.

Collect your tickets and wait

At Charlotte Pass Guest Services you can collect your tickets for oversnow transport (which you must pre-book).

Wait until your oversnow time is called to board your transport.

5.

Oversnow to Charlottes

When called, oversnow staff can help you to get your luggage onto the  transport.

A bus replaces the oversnow transport in case of low snowfall.

Once aboard you can relax and enjoy the 40 minute trip through Perisher Valley and pristine alpine landscape.

6.

Disembark in Charlottes

Upon arrival in Charlotte Pass, wait until you;re at the top of the village. Your driver will let you know when guests for Snowbird should disembark.

Snowbird staff can help you get your luggage up to the lodge if necessary. Our staff are very busy on changeover day, so please contact Ingrid at bookings@snowbird.com.au to arrange help with your luggage.

You may prefer to arrange a private shuttle to take you from Jindabyne to Perisher Terminal.

At the Perisher terminal, find the Charlotte Pass Guest Services office at the southern end of the terminal.

Getting home from Charlotte Pass

Getting home requires that you do the journey in reverse.

You’ll need to book oversnow transport out of the village. You can do this when making your booking into the village.

On departure day make sure you are ready to board 15 minutes before your scheduled oversnow transport departure time.

On arrival in Perisher, make your way to the Skitube platform for trains heading to Bullocks Flat or find your Private Shuttle.
